Coconut oil for skin and hair - the advantages

If you want to take care of your skin and hair naturally, you can use coconut oil. We'll show you what's in coconut oil and how to use it cosmetically.

Coconut oil for the skin: advantages at a glance

  • The coconut oil contains, among other things, saturated fatty acids such as palmitic acid and stearic acid. However, lauric acid is particularly important for the nourishing effect on the skin.
  • Lauric acid primarily has an antibacterial effect. This protects your skin from germs, bacteria and fungi.
  • Coconut oil can also provide moisture, but not necessarily in its pure form. The pure coconut oil only nourishes the skin superficially and does not penetrate deeply.
  • You only need small amounts to use coconut oil. Spread some coconut oil on the palms of your hands and rub it warm before applying it to your face or other areas of your skin.

Groom hair with coconut oil

  • Coconut oil can also have a nourishing effect on the hair. Rub some coconut oil in your hands and work it into your hair.
  • Let the coconut oil soak in for at least an hour. As with all natural hair treatments, it is worth leaving the coconut oil in your hair overnight.
  • Then rinse the coconut oil with shampoo. Use a mild shampoo as possible.
  • In the next practical tip, we will show you how coconut oil can help with your dental care.
